Career and Training Opportunites

Faculty Positions

While hiring is done on an independent basis by individual departments, as a public research institution all potential faculty positions must be publicly advertised.  Most available positions are advertised on standard sites but for a list of current immunology related faculty searches at the UIUC visit the online career opportunity directory (https://jobs.illinois.edu).

Immunology Positions at College of Veterinary Medicine

Graduate Students

There are a broad range of graduate programs under the umbrella of UIUC Graduate College (https://grad.illinois.edu). Although there is not currently a stand-alone graduate immunology program, investigators in the Program in Immunology participate in a variety of these graduate programs on campus, and many participate as trainers in multiple programs, including some not listed on this site. Each graduate training program has unique admission criteria, graduation requirements, foci of graduate training and in some cases NIH supported T32 fellowships. For more information on each of the graduate program with immunology focused training please use the following links:

The Tissue Microenvironment (TiMe) Training Program (https://cancer.illinois.edu/time-program/)

Cancer Scholars for Translational and Applied Research (CSTAR) (https://cancer.illinois.edu/cstar-program/)

Endocrine, Developmental & Reproductive Toxicology Training Program (https://vetmed.illinois.edu/toxtrainingprogram/)

Mayo Clinic & Illinois Alliance for Teachnology-based Healthcare (https://mayoillinois.org)

School of Molecular & Cellular Biology Graduate Program (https://mcb.illinois.edu/academics/phd-programs)

Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral researchers are an important part of what makes Illinois a vibrant center for research. Postdoctoral fellows are supported through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (https://grad.illinois.edu/postdocs)

The Graduate College serves postdoctoral scholars and their faculty mentors by enhancing the postdoctoral experience and cultivating professional development opportunities. We work to promote and expand postdoctoral career and professional development resources, provide resources for faculty mentors creating mentoring plans for postdoctoral professional development and grant proposals, and join collaborative efforts to address policy impacting postdoctoral scholars. There is a robust community of postdocs on the UIUC campus engaged in immunology focused training.  There are also NIH T32 training opportunities available or some postdoctoral fellows on campus.  For interested applicants please contact principal investigators directly or follow this link for a list of currently available positions.
